From the east (Denver/Summit County)
Take I-70 west to Exit 195 (Copper Mountain/Leadville). From the Exit, go south on Highway 91. Pass the Climax Mine at the top of Freemont Pass at about 10 miles, then continue downhill for about 5 miles. Slow down when you see the green MILE MARKER 7 sign on the left. The entrance to our Base Camp is just south of that sign. Watch for oncoming traffic, then turn left into our driveway.

From the west (Avon/Vail)
Take I-70 east to Exit 195 (Copper Mountain/Leadville) From the Exit, go south on Highway 91. From the south (Leadville)
From the South (Leadville/Buena Vista/Salida), drive North out of Leadville on Highway 91 for about 6 miles. Look for our entrance just past the green Mile Marker 6 sign on the right. Do not go up the steep hill to Freemont Pass. If you see the Climax Mine you have gone too far.

White Mountain Tours is not located in the town of Leadville, Colorado. Our office is on Highway 91 north of Leadville, but our winter operations take place on our private property about 7 miles north of Leadville and 15 miles south of Copper Mountain. The entrance to our Base Camp at 6492 Highway 91 is well marked from both directions.

Our Base Camp provides check in facilities, Portalets, and Photo Service. The suit and boot facility has many sizes of coveralls, helmets and insulated boots. It is not necessary to wear our equipment, except wearing our helmets is mandatory. Ski helmets are not appropriate for snowmobiling. Feel free to wear your own warm ski apparel, bring gloves, goggles and a warm scarf or neck gator.

No lockers are provided for storage of valuables while you ride. We are not responsible for loss of any personal items left or lost while participating in one of our tours.
